New laptop for $298

I don't want to start all kinds of posts for technology deals but thought this was a great deal for someone looking for an extra laptop, a new one to upgrade without spending a lot or for their kids...

Walmart started this deal on Feb 28th but some stores still have them. I did not buy one as I'm happy with what I have, but thought I'd share the info as I did think about buying it just to have an extra for travel etc.

The major things it doesn't have is a webcam and HDMI slots, but the display is an HD screen and it has decent specs for the price. You almost have to pay that much just for a netbook...

I tried....We found 20 stores within 50 miles of 27545. Only three carried it and they are out of stock!

I don't know much about eMachine laptops either, but I've read that Acer bought them out awhile ago and are building them now which means they should be decent quality and last okay.

Damnit! I just looked again at Walmart's site to search inventory and a store real close to me just got them in again after nothing close to me last night. Now I'm tempted again!?! I really was thinking of getting something cheap for my travels coming up soon but since this doesn't have a webcam, I stayed away.

Acer makes decent quality laptops. If I had my choice I would buy an HP,Asus, or Toshiba. No Mac

You know, I wanna knock the machine because it's from a junky manufacturer, has a low grade screen, an underpowered processor (by today's standards), and a pathetic video card...but dammit at that price it's actually MORE POWERFUL than any Netbook (the standard product found at the $300 price point).

If you're just looking for a cheap laptop, that's a KILLER DEAL. It's be great to have one just for sitting around and smoking with...in case you don't wanna smoke near a nice expensive laptop.
