63" is $3400
That is a SWEET price! I'm gonna get whatever the new version of that is sometime in the next few years. Some kind of 4k, SLED, 3D television.

And Samsung IS the best. I have a 5.5 year old Samsung HDTV and it still looks as good as many of the mid-range TVs out today. The high-end ones are better, obviously, and are cheaper than I paid for this one, but I've never regretted it! It's one of those sweet-looking pedestal TVs

lol I'm with you on that. This seems more like a really expensive novelty to me. A few movies in 3d is cool but to have to wear the glasses all the time.....I think I'm good.

I bet we hear of a bunch of less than satisfied owners a few months after they buy this thing.
no no, you don't HAVE to watch stuff in 3D ... it's just an option. The "3D TVs" are just nice TVs that have the 3D option.

I never use picture-in-picture anymore on my TV, but I do like having that option if I want it. So why not get a 3D TV if you happen to want a nice TV anyway.

Just seems like something else to go wrong on a zillion circuits board. Kind of like modern cars.......
that's very true. And back in the day they used to actually REPAIR items when they broke. My parent's old tube TV lasted for 35 years, and they only had to ditch it because they didn't make the right parts anymore to fix it. They're next TV lasted 10 years (which is pretty good), and the one I bought them last year will probably not last past 6-7.

These days, if something goes wrong most of the time it's better just to buy a new TV, which is pathetic.

Agreed again. I just had my Sony's main circuit board go and I called Sony, luckily it was under warranty. If it hadn't been the 1 part was over 1000 the stinkin tv cost me 1500.

The BIG manufacturers are getting better at engineering for specific failure. I like small manufacturers for hard items they tend to overbuild their stuff. It's tough to get that with electronics though.

yea, I wonder if the manufacturers intentionally over-charge for parts so that you just buy a new TV. Back in the day, the models didn't change much year-to-year, and there were probably more 3rd party parts too. Now, last year's model barely has parts made for it anymore!
