Have any of you guys noticed whether/how Illusione's change with age? I know they haven't been around long enough for real age, but I'm just wondering if they are much different after a year or more.

I love Illusiones. Eperanay, the "original document," Cruzado, and I'm sure I'll like the new Nosotros as well. The only problem is, I've never been able to keep them around long enough to find out how they change with a little age.

Now that I have a newborn and a toddler, I'm looking at smoking cigars less frequently as well as hitting smaller cigars. I'm thinking a box of Illusione 68 would be in order, and maybe a split on the Eperanay petite corona (can't recall the name). But since I have too many cigars as it is, they'll age by default, lol.

Nate, cant help you on age, but if your looking for a smaller RG, try the MK, its unreal!
I've had one, liked it a lot, but more research is needed :smokingco I think I have 1 or 2 more actually, but that size is harder to find for some reason).

Nate, I wish I could tell you my friend, I have an unopened box of Illusione ECCJ's from 01/09 and I know that if I open it I will smoke every damn one of them.

But when I do, you will be the 2nd person to know about them!

I have a box of 08 MK's that I thought were ok when I first got them. Now they are way better. That said I have a box of 07 MK's on the way that I am excited to try. I will have to smoke the 08's faster so I can open that box

I did a split of a box of 07 Holy Lance's last month on BOTL. I gave one to Benzopyrene and had the other 20 besides my 5er sold off. Do any of the brothers who participated have thoughts on how they differ w/ 30+ months vs. current production HLs? I have no experience with freshies.

I just pulled the last 6-7 cg:4's out of a box I bought over a year ago. They were on the bottom of one of my tubs and were forgotten about. They were starting to plume! Had a nice little dusting on them.

I gifted a couple and smoked 3-4. I think I might have one left :(

I've had 2 CG4's. The first one was smoked a couple of months after picking em up and I found it a little too peppery for me. The second one I smoked recently after a year in the humi and I loved it. Either my taste has changed or they age really well or a little bit of both.

.....time constraints only get worse as they get older....LOL. The Illusione 68 are a great short smoke and the price point is dead on target. I also feel they will age well.

Where are you guys finding these '07s, lol? I always try to buy sticks with a bit of extra age if I can, but it's not usually an option.

Just go into your B&M and look at the box codes... they pop up all the time bro.

I bought a box of MK's from CigarPlace.biz and they showed up with a box date of 07. There must be a warehouse with a good stock of them from that time period.

Yea, the 2 B&Ms that are about an hour away carry Illusiones, but they fly off the shelves, lol.
That doesn't mean the next shipment won't have any...

What I gathered from talking to Paul at the show is that as Illusione grew up and the new boxes came in (i.e. the boxes from Tropical >> to the warehouse) often times the old stuff got pushed towards the back... as they work through product sometimes faster than others they dip into the stuff that got pushed back merely by volume/sales.

Note: Boxes get shipped in all the time and stuff gets re-pushed back to the back... I hope that makes sense.

I have seen stuff show up (albeit different sizes) at the B&M from 07/08/09 in the same shipment... just gotta keep looking bro.

Just received an MK from 2008. I'll let you know how it smokes after it has rested a bit.

From my limited experience, I've liked the fresher ones better (which is typical of most marcas for me), the flavors are more distinct. That's not to say that they won't be even better with a little more age.
