They're the same thing, just the end of the recent run. There was enough tobaccy left to roll some more, so I think Marvin got like 20-30 something extra boxes, they had no bands but the bundles were wrapped in foil.

Just special because it's a great smoke with a limited release to only one place in Hawaii. The banded ones were long gone pretty quickly (lasted a month or so would be a guess). Then they were not available. They got another small shipment of them about 3 or 4 weeks ago (IIRC), and there was a waiting list. And now they are once again.....gone.

That's what I know about it anyway. Others may have some more info.

The foil helps to preserve the aroma & oils from the sticks - keeping them fresh, potent & allows them to age a bit differently than non-foil wrapped bundles. Let them age a few years next to non-foil wrapped & taste one from each - there will be a significant difference... Or just smoke them all - either way they are very tasty IMO.

The banded ones (first release) came packaged in a wooden box, like most of the other Tats. No foil.
They all came in a box. Only difference is the 1st 2 releases were banded and no foil wrapped in wax paper, the last release is no bands and in foil backed wax paper, all in boxes. If you want the supposed aging benefit to being in foil, wrap them in wax paper and then in foil. Should be the same thing.

I have a few of the unbanded ones. Haven't smoked one yet, so I don't know if there is a difference or not. Sposed to be the same cigar as the second release.

LOL, I understand they all came in a box. My point was the orig. release was not foil wrapped. I know, I have both.

At some point, I am going to do a comparison between the two to see how much the flavors may or may not be different. I think I want to let them sit for another year or so though.

They are the same blend, as AJ pointed out you wouldn't see a difference for a couple years between the foil wrapped and the others.

I think I'll wrap up 10 or so of mine and see what they do.
Guys it is not just the foil, it is wet packing the sticks in foil. The foil will then preserve the oils, etc and allow for better aging.

Wrapping stick you have that were previously in the drying rooms and have been at home for a while will reduce the effectiveness of the foil and will not have the same effect.

The T110's were not truly wetpacked as they had been rolled for a few weeks before being put in the foil and thus it is yet to be seen how the "wet packing" will affect them in the future.

Interesting! Great info. Had not thought/realized that. Thanks! Really glad I have both now. I have not openned the foil package!

So that's why they always say to let them rest for a while huh Eric?

so the Cazadore is wetpacked, right? It would be really fun to smoke one that had been kept in the pack for say 2 years, and one that had been opened but aged two years.
