I was looking through the new copy of Tobacconist and found an ad from My Father Cigars. Looks like Jaime will have a new stick called the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial. Also, a cigar called La Reloba.Though I'm not certain of who is the "Father" of this blend. Slated for release in 2010. I don't know much more beyond the ad; but a google search revealed a well received review for the JG and a rather obscure reference on the La Reloba. Being the My Father Cigars fan that I am..... I eagerly anticipate trying these.

These were "given" away last year at an NYC event last fall, I was fortunate enough to be given 2 by a very special brother here. Im still yet to spark one, but from what ive heard, thy're mild and awesome.

Is this or is this not the "special" stick that Jaime is doing from that super-cool tobacco stash, the one that only he and Pete can use?

There was a stick called Jaime's Reserve released in Dec 09 in NYC. You had to buy a box and you got a free box of Jaime's Reserve (unbanded). They are a smooth, flavorful, full bodied cigar. They can be a little sneaky. I believe 25 came in those boxes with a supposed retail price of $350.

They are actually awesome cigars

These are definitely worth trying.

That stick is one that Pepin and Jaime are rolling. I don't think it has been officially named as of yet....wasn't when we were in Esteli.

Here is my info on the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial, which is a stick done totally by Pepins son, Jaime...

From what I understand, Pepin is supposed to have a cigar out this year that no one rolls but him, but we will see if that comes to pass...

hope that helps!

Thanks Brooks...I'd love to try one, but at $25 a stick, that's unlikely to happen. There are very few sticks that I will lay down that kind of coin for.

He's already been rolling them. Bundles in the aging room in newspaper with a clear tarp covering the few shelves there on.

The stick rolled by Pepin will be packaged in boxes of ten in individual coffins - these will likely be in the $30 range...

The 'Jaime's Reserva' has been 'tweeked' by Pepin because he was not satisfied with it - I happened to love it - the msrp on the boxes at Cigar Inn's event was $250, but that was for a box of 20, and usually street value is lower than msrp - I would anticipate these being in the $10-14 range, keep in mind that the Broadleaf Maduro wrapper on these have been aged for 6 years also.

Ditto on that as well. I can't really afford to spend that on one cigar either. Not to mention the fact the possability of not liking it. It's always a gamble with taste being so subjective but I'ts depressing when you just don't want to gamble with something out of your price range.

Exactly, in fact, in the video of Pepin rolling a few cigars while we were in Esteli, he was wrapping a few of them.

AJ... it's 12 to a box, each individually packaged.

And Brooks... The stick is already in production, Pepin said he/Jaime should be done in a few months with the rolling.

Brooks, unless you got a spy that you can send over to Nicaragua... this one is not gonna happen. It's gonna be though. Good luck.

Any new info on the My Father La Reloba cigars, they will be available in both a Habano and Sumatra wrapper.

Not much info on that Larry, wish I had some... With the Jaime Reserva being so good I can only expect another good cigar by Jaime.
