So today was cleaning day at my house. Cleaning day is the day I scrub all the snake cages and usually clean the turtle filter/tank also. It was a nice day so I took some of the snakes out on the deck for a photo op. Some of them came out pretty good so I thought I'd share another passion with the board...

Very nice, Dan. What kind of snakes are they?
The first one is a normal and second are normal ball pythons, the third is a normal corn snake, the fourth is an amelanistic (or more commonly, though incorrectly, referred to as an albino) corn snake, the fifth is a pastel ball python, and the last one is a normal ball python. I also have a kenyan sand boa, but she was too uncooperative for the photos.

Kind of like this . :hysterica I don't have any issues with them. I've had all kinds of creepy crawlies since I was a kid. I had a black widow as a pet for a while in college (named her after my ex-girlfriend at the time :hysterica). I've kept scorpions and tarantulas and hissing cockroaches.

That is sooooo cool. I remember a girl friend of mine had a sand Boa... I always liked looking at it, even if it didn't do much.
No, sand boas don't make the best display animals. But I'll get them out if someone wants to see her. Here's a pic of her when I got her.

You know you're not the first to bring this up. And I do have a package headed his way that hasn't quite made it to the post office yet :thinkidea.

i'VE HAD A COUPLE SMALL BOAS, BUT mY FAVORITE snake WAS A BURMESE that was roughtly 7 ft long and could eat a medium sized rabbit once every month or so with some large rat snacks in between. We adopted it and kept it for a couple years before we let someone have her.

Burms are cool, a friend of mine has 3. I want a reticulated python, but with a 20+ foot adult size and they grow so quick the first few years I just don't have the room for one right now.

Very cool, Dan! Thanks for sharing the "family" pics! I haven't gotten to keep any snakes since before my stepmom came along... I used to keep 5-7 ringnecks at a time in a terrarium I made. I was around 7-8 years old then. I loved those little guys... I would keep them for a few days, then, trade out with some fresh ones from out back of my dad's shop.

Nice snakes Dan! My old roommate some kind of boa for years! I watched him grow up from approx 16 inches and maybe a lb. or so, to at least 10 feet and probly 20-30 lbs by the time he moved out some years later. "Bobie" was a great chick-magnet back in the day...
