With all of the RP bashing lately I'm wondering if it's really about the cigars or the marketing that people have issues with. Off the top of my head I can think of 5 that I really like and there's probably a lot more if I really think about it, and I'm not too snobbish to admit it.

My likes in no particular order are 1990, 1992, Edge Lite, Winter Blend, and the Sungrown. I'm also really looking forward to trying the 1961.

Anyone else?

I like the Sungrown and the Edge Sumatra but other than that I haven't been impressed by many that I have tried. It's not necessarily that the cigar was bad just that there were so many more in the price range that I thought were better. For the most part I just don't feel like the price/taste matrix matches up. That being said the Sungrown I think I would pay more for and not be upset. I don't give a flip what his marketing is, everyone does it.

The only company to turn me off with the marketing was Gurkha and that has more to do with the cigars being terrible in my opinion and their idea to say the MSRP is 2x what you really would pay for it anywhere. It's like the stores with the going out of business sale signs up but they never go out of business.

I like a TON of RPs. It'll be hard to order them all, but I'll try :)

1) Decade with a year or more of age on it
2) Edge Sumatra (old label)
3) Olde World Reserve Maduro
4) Renaissance (replaced the Edge Sumatra, very similar)
5) Fusion with a year or more of age on it
6) Olde World Reserve Corojo
7) Vintage '92
8) Signature
9) Edge Lite
10) Edge Maduro/Corojo
11) Connecticut
12) Indian Tabac Cameroon Legend
13) Indian Tabac 10th Anniversary
14) Sungrown
15) Indian Tabac Super Fuerte

I like the same stuff as you. The Idian Tabac Non Pareil and the ITC 10th are also good for a bedget smoke. Otherwise, I stay away, from the other stuff, but not all smokes are going to please all smokers. Rocky has built a big business, and I'm sure is driving a nicer car than I am.

My issue was when the Marketing guy jumped in, after getting the heads up from Eddie, saying that they never used any kind of Dye or additive on thier tobacco. And then proceeded to assume that we were all dumb enough to believe that the stains and color bleed we are seeing was because the tobacco is so ultra premium, and a bit wet. Well Bollocks to that crap. The first post this guy made here was to lie to everyone on the site. This does not make me want to go out and buy their smokes, when there are so many other fish in the sea.

I used to smoke a lot of the Vintage 90 and 92's however recently the few I have had all turned bitter and acrid. I also had an OWR Maddy that did the same thing. A few minutes after lighting it I didn't even want to continue smoking it.

I admit I used to love RP cigars but this right here is the straw that broke the camels back for me.
^yep, I hate that dying thing too. it doesn't effect the flavor, and it's a natural tobacco product--but it's annoying as crap.

^ I also want to try the Patel Bros and 1961, as well as the new Royal Vintage (a Vintage with a Habano wrapper).

The OWR corojo & the Winter blend were both okay. I intended on getting around to trying a 1961 or Patel Bros, but with the dying issue I'm really not that inclined to buy.

I like some of their cigars, especially the Old World Reserve but I won't smoke them anymore after running into the issue with dye.
