Need some advice from all you knowledgeable drinkers. Brother and i are putting out a small "Specialty Drink" menu. We want to highlight the liquor in the bar, which has never been a big seller at the country club. Oh yeah, for those that don't know, my bro and i are taking over food service at the local country club. serving lunches, banquets, dinners and the bar.

anyhow, we want to start capitalizing on liquors so we're going to runa small, easy specialty drink menu to increase the average check. i'm looking for ideas that can be easily mixed, if not mostly premixed and then thrown in a shaker, poured and served. here's what i've got so far.

Cosmopolitan - i figure we can premix the cranberry, triple sec and lime. add the vodka, shake, pour. i'll even try premixing it all and see how it comes out. if the ratios are good, it should be fine.

Mojito - the way i make mine, i can premix the lime, simple syrup, rum and store. when it comes time to make it, add the mint to a shaker, shake vigourously, pour, add soda water and go.

i'm thinking about developing a mojito martini. haven't experemented with it yet. anyone have any suggestions? I'm thinking i'll need to figure out how to concentrate the mint, lime and simple syrup. maybe eliminate the soda? i don't know yet.

Rum Kick Martini - It's basically a souped up version of rum pnch. can be made totally ahead of time, portioned, shaken and served as a martini. this is the easiest one i've got at the moment.

you guys have nay other suggestions along these lines?

if you come up with a winner, there may be a prize...:chat:

I worked at a jamming bar on the water a while back and we pre-mixed our Mudslides in empty cranberry juice jugs. We would take baileys, kahlua, and vodka. We could put in a blender with ice for frozen or over ice for on the rocks. we also mixed up a magarita in the same gallons. tequila, gran marnier, cointreau, lime juice, oj, sourmix. Just shake and go. I hope this helps Gale and pm me if you guys need anything else. We are jamming at my country club right now but I'll always have a few for the brothers.

East coast grill in Cambridge does this awesome! they take 151 rum and I think capt morgan and fill a glass jug with the pineapple and booze and then let it sit in the sun for a few weeks. then serve over ice and its the smoothest rocket fuel you ever did have.

One of my regular drinks is just 1/2 boot strap rum and 1/2 Ginger Beer, though it's hard for me to find ginger beer around here. There's also the Southern Hurrican.
* 3 oz. Southern Comfort
* 3 oz. sour mix
* 3 oz. orange juice
* 3 oz. pineapple juice
And there's always Long Island Ice Tea.
* Grenadine
* Ice
* Hurricane glass (or pint glass)
* 1 slice of orange (optional garnish)
* 1 maraschino cherry (optional garnish)

Santa Fe Dry:
Blueberry Vodka
Lemonade
Garnishes either a couple of blueberries or a sprig o' mint
might have to give that one a try. the color would be a good. although i'm a bit wary of having to buy a whole bottle of blueberry anything just to try something out.

blueberry vodka just ain't my thing....but then again, this isn't for me...

Why not a classic, yet with the twist that provides molecular mixology?
classic what? martini?

absoltuely! gin, vermouth at 3:1 ratio, twist of lemon.

sorry moro, forgot to say that was alrady on the list.

i'm working on bleu cheesed stuffed olives too. those are always a huge hit with martini fans. they're jsut tough to find in a lot of restaurants because they aint cheap and people go ga-ga for them. we could lose our asses on bleu cheese olives!!!

The only problem I found with bleu cheese olives is they leave kind of a oil slick on top of the Martini. Me personally I have no problem with them but some of the members here bitched about it. Also you are right they are super expensive and they sit around because not everybody wants them. I paid $31.88 for a 5# tub that included liquid in the weight.
