Ive been lookin around for a pistol lately. I would love a Kimber Raptor 1911 or a Sig 228,but lets be honest....Im poor. looked at some other 1911s namely PARA GI and Springfield GI. But lately ive been checking out the FNH pistol series. I saw the FNP9 and it seems like a Sig, but about half the price. Im a fan of the decocking lever and the SA/DA. they seem pretty solid from what ive read on gun forums, but i wanted to get yalls opinion. So anybody own one of these or got any trigger time with em????? im also open to suggestions of other pistols that arent going to break the bank. P.S. im not a glock fan....

On the topic of FNP, I own a FNP-45 and love it to death. That said, I also own many 1911s.
Good luck choosing!

From your comments I would look into a XD40, M&P 40 or used sig 228. All these would fit your price range, are great reliable guns and are easily sold used if you decided you want to switch to something else down the road.

Nothing wrong with a pre owned pistol as long as it hasn't had a bunch of gunsmith work...

I have the Sig P226 Two Tone .40 and LOVE that thing! I have the .357Sig barrel for it too. You can get them at a good price. I picked mine up as a factory refurb at about 60% less than MRSP new. It was a former range weapon from the Feds. They apparently only run about 300 rounds through them prior to the refurb, and it's still warrantied. The gun feels great, and it's extremely accurate.

If your looking for a 1911 on a budget check out the Rock Island 1911's. Great shooters that are priced right and come with a lifetime warranty.

PS: Here is the best price on these models of Rock Island 1911's. Click on May's gun page and shotgun news add
