Well, generally - I smoke a 7 x 58 Series R maduro once a week, or at most twice.

This is a pretty full bodied cigar - which I like - but has been pretty heavy on aftertaste that lingers for days.

So, on impulse - I tried simply putting a teaspoon (or so) of baking soda in my mouth - followed that with a sip of water, let it all slosh around for a while, rinse, then repeat.

Works great.

I do realize this may not be a big deal to some or that some may prefer the aftertaste and not see a problem. Particularly for those who smoke multiple cigars every day - I don't see how it would benefit them.

However, if you're like me and just smoke once or twice a week it is surprising how well it works.

I'm there with ya! I don't like the taste of "Ash tray" post smoke. I have been using a tongue scraper but now I will give the BS a try.:applause:

There's aftertaste and then there's aftertaste. I love the "just a hint of the finish lingering on the palate" sort of thing for a few hours after I smoke. I could do without the "tastes like a cat shat in my mouth" thing I get the next morning.

Now I know what to try next.

What's the name of that rinse stuff? Would be interested to see if it is available here. I kind of enjoy the aftertaste, but that morning after "shatness" is not at all pleasant.

I have found a beer or two after seems to cut all the tar and really remove a lot of the aftertaste.

Best way to keep your palette clean is to smoke cleaner tobacco. I rarely have an issue w/ a foul taste in my mouth. I used too though.

My boss refers to the after taste as "midget sh*t" Don't ask me why. Might have to do with the angry elfs he smokes.haha Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try it out as the wife isn't too fond of it either, but it doesn't bother me.

I believe the name of it is Taragon. Don't use any mouthwash that has alcohol in it as that just exacerbates the breath stench. Baking soda is actually good and is pretty inexpensive to buy and keeps the teeth looking whiter.
