I just had to say, that about a month ago, I picked up a slightly used Vinotemp 28 off craigslist. It was being used for its' native purpose of caring for wine.

Other than wiping down the interior and letting it air out a couple days, I've done nothing to this thing. I jammed it full of boxes, dropped a pound of 65% beads in the bottom, set the temp to 66 and walked away.

This thing has been nailed at 65%/66 degrees since. It has not moved at all (two different thermometers/hygro's in it). I am ecstatic with this things performance. Best $100 I've ever spent (thank you CL!).

Very nice Mike! I love mine. I know I can leave it for a month or two, and it will still be sitting with perfect stats when I get back home. I think it's the best 'set it and forget it' for your buck.

Nice pick-up! I've had one for a couple years and it is so easy to maintain, hardly ever have to add water - the beads do their job perfectly.

I am looking at buying one of these for $125 from somebody on Craigslist but it's a couple of hours away. Can these be hauled laying on their side? I know that isn't good on compressor cooled models but is it ok with thermo electric ones??

Can't beat that for $100! I got a new 18 bottle shipped for $150 and I thought I got a good deal!

Can't complain w/ it at all, luckily It's been cool enough to where I don't have to have the Vino plugged in. It's at 69*/68% right now. Plugged in it chills almost constantly at 65*-66*-64%-65%

I have 2 and both motors went kaput within a year. I have a feeling it had something to do with the fact that they were both jam packed with cigar boxes. Maybe not enough air getting to the motor. Or maybe just crappy motors. But even without the cooling, these things hold the humidity! I can go a long time between refreshing the beads.

The cooling barely kicks in for me and there is great distribution in the whole thing according to the multiple hygro's I have in there.

The peltier cooling fans are just cheapo computer type fans and they are external to the unit. Heck, if one ever goes out, I can run up to the store and get a new fan or $15.

I just picked up my Vinotemp 28 yesterday and can't wait to get it setup. When I picked it up he had it plugged in and running and holding the lowest temperature perfectly so I'm very optimistic I got a good one. Now I gotta get some stuff ordered from Chasidor to get this thing going :cbig:

I love my vinotemp and have the custom drawers for it. Really can't beat it for the price, look, and quality.
