Looks like you have plenty of room next to it for a matching unit! LOL

Good luck with it!

I was pushing my luck with this one Justin......and I was damn lucky this all came about around Father's day!!...LOL!

Already decided I think i'm gonna go with 3 or 4 of the double drawers from Chasidor.com, with the red mahogany stain to match the cherry wood in my office.

I haven't heard the "cooling unit" kick on yet though....will I be able to hear it when it does?

Said I'd post a few pics, and here's how she turned out. I'm pretty happy with it (to put it mildly).

A single before pic, and a few of the after in the original post.

Looks great. My shelves should be landing next week and I can't wait to get them filled up.

So did you just wipe down with distilled water and let them sit overnight? How do most people season the drawers?

Those drawers are dope.

I don't want to speak for "most" people, because to each his own.

I would have set a bowl of water on the bottom and let it sit for at least a week. the dry wood may take more than a spritz or wipe down to be seasoned all the way thru. I worry about spritzing the wood, and then setting the sticks directly on the newly dampened wood. Seasoning a humidor or drawers does not happen overnight.

I sprayed them last night....(albeit VERY lightly as I was concerned about this method as well). I let the drawers dry out over night before I put the cigars in there this morning.

From a previous post I'd read that came from Chuck himself....sounded like the seasoning of these drawers wouldn't take much, so I just went for it.

Edit to add the post I was referring to:
from ChasDen himself:

All the cedar I use is stored in a downstairs utility room with a RH of around 60%.
I keep the wood in there at all times until it is time to cut it. I do this for several reasons.
A) I want it to be as close to its intended moisture content so it doesn’t shrink or swell too much.
B) Hopefully this lessens the seasoning time needed.

Although the trays are not wrapped in an airtight wrapper, they are wrapped up pretty good. So they should be pretty close to the moisture content we are looking for. I would suggest you only wipe them down with damp rag or sponge of distilled water. Your trays are slotted and have no tops so there will be plenty of air flow around the wood. Place them in the cooler and if needed add some extra moisture to be absorbed by the trays and beads.

Just watch it over the first week and remove the added moisture when things stabilize.

Chas

I've seen some of the carnage you've unleashed on others Jack....something tells me your stash ain't far off. I just might've had a little head start is all....but I fully intend on slowing down, so you should pass me up in no time bro!
