Welcome!

So now you have a bunch of aged sticks.
Some of the packages I wrote the year on when I bought them. I am slowly trying to sort them out and I know there are some from 2000 in there. They did go through a dry period in there when I wasn't paying attention to them. When I 're-discovered' them a couple years ago they were at ~50-55rh and I have been slowly getting the cooler back up to where it now holds between 65 - 70 for more than a couple weeks before recharged the green foam I have in there. I also have 2lbs of Heartfelt beads on the way, so when I re-organize it I can stuff some beads in there also.

Some of the stuff I bought back then was cheap. Bundles and closeouts. I even have some Maria Mancinis in there from when they were still sold in 40ct boxes.

I've been trying to remind myself to pick out the older ones for at work since my tastes have changed a bit and I need to clear out room.

I was thinking the same...

Did you keep the coolerdor running at a nice REH and temp during that time? Have you inspected your smokes for mold or beetles? Just wondering because you may have some real gems in there.

I wish I could keep it a stable temp. It is in our main living area and the temps do hit high 80's in the spring/summer before I get the window AC units in and even then stays around 80. In winter house is kept about 65.

RH had dropped to low/mid 50's at one point but is now back up between 65-70. I just received some Heartfelt beads so hopefully I can keep it closer to 65.

As far as mold/beetles - I just had everything out of it last night trying to figure out what I had and to re-organize it. Some of the bundles were and 2 boxes of ERdM Cafe auLait from 1999 were still sealed. I didn't open the bundles since I have open duplicate bundles, but I opened one of the cafe au laits and examined the open boxes/bundles and didn't notice any signs of any mold or beetles.

I haven't gone through many of them to test-smoke them as I've recently gotten fresh samplers and have been going through them.

I've toyed with irritating SWMBO again and getting them out for pics. All the sampler bags pretty much cover our floor, though.

:welcome:

Welcome bud! Well I can now say that something good did come from Thompson. They led a facilitated the means for you to discover cigars and you finally wound up here!

As bad as I hate to admit, that is exactly the path that led me to smoking cigars. I somehow wound up with a Thompson magazine, order a cigar/humidor package and the rest is history. The cigars were total crap but the humidor was actually an excellent humi and I still have it in use today.

I even have some Maria Mancinis in there from when they were still sold in 40ct boxes.
Same here I've got a 40 ct., what I call the jewelry box, of Magic Mountains resting somewhere deep in one of my coolers that is probably 7-8 years aged and still three quarters full. I might have to pull one of those out sometime soon and reminisce.
