My wife has baught me a nice Xicar Travel Humidor for Fathers day and I have met other brothers that have personalized thiers with cigar bands. I was wondering if anybody could tell me the best enamel or a Polyurathane that was used for this purpose...Post pics if you got them too!!

You can use Modge Podge... for the start... it's made to decoupage and works great. YOu can find it at any craft store.

THen, depending on the finish you want, you can use multiple coats of that, or use a spray finish for more durability. I haven't done that very much personally htough, so hopefully the other bros can chime in for you.

Modge podge is similar to Elmer’s White glue, and is water soluble. So you don’t want to use it for the top coat. Use it to get the bands stuck down in place where you want them, it dries slowly so you can move and slide the bands in place and cleans up easily. Then there is a 2 part self leveling epoxy that you pour on top and it does the rest. I’ll try to search it out, because I know It’s here somewhere.

What you are thinking of is the Mirror Coat. A former botl used it on his projects and i got the name from him. works great.
