These fans run on a D battery for roughly 3 months, the cycle 15 minutes off and 5 minutes on. and are just stong enough to move a bit of air around. It helps prevent pockets of wet or dry air in your humidor.

Anybody with a wine fridge or igloo cooler set up shoul have at least 1 for a little air circulation while your smokes are resting.

seems like this seller has several of these and lists them regularly. or has been for a little while.

be sure you order the FAN....they sell a ton of refills, and you obviously don't use the oil, or the incense. Not that you didn't already know that, but just making sure.

I've had pretty good luck of still finding them from time to time at Big Lot's - "Home of the Ronson Jet-Lite Lighters!"

That is the eBay seller that I got mine from. The communication from them was great and they shipped quickly. I called the Big Lots here in Topeka and found that they didn't have any. Too bad as they would have a LOT cheaper.

I couldn't really tell that they were moving much air... Do they really do that much good?

Been using one for a few years on my 800 ct cabinet, seems to do very well.

I believe like stated they keep wet and dry pockets from forming.

Yes they work just fine. No it does not create a cyclone in your humi. You don't want to have a breeze over your cigars, just a little circulation, The things run fairly often considering it blows for 5 minutes then rests for 15 minutes. So 15 minutes of blow time every hour all day all week all month.

Yes please let us know how it works and it absorbs odors too!

"I am not sure about the Oust only moving air only 5mins every 15mins and the air moving power of the fan."

Many, many brothers on this site and others have been using the Oust fans for years and it does infact work wonderfully!

Oh my! I could not imagine opening my humidor and NOT smelling the wonderful aroma of cigars!:cryloud:

"Upgrade your frigemate to this high volume air circulator cools your RV fridge evenly, absorbs odors with a replaceable activated charcoal filter
and runs on 2 D batteries not included."

wutnot, I just thought I would share this review with you, it came from Amazon.com....

"Pretty simple. The fan blows a small amount of air around the fridge to keep the temperature consistant. I use it in my RV fridge (4 cu ft). The bag of charcoal i.e. odor filter is lame. The bag gets caught in the cover when you try to snap it on. Biggest problem I'v had is when the fridge is full, air doesn't circulate any way. I expect this is helping a little, but is no big difference in the way the fridge works. No off switch, so you have to remove the cover to stop the fan between trips."

Today I ordered one of these:

When it comes in I will let you guys know how it is.
It's description says it moves a lot of air. I will try this one.

I am not sure about the Oust only moving air only 5mins every 15mins and the air moving power of the fan.

good luck with that, I saw those a while back. I was worried that a constant flow of air would be like wind over a wet towel. The towel will dry out faster with wind blowing on it. I believe RonC made a similar analogy a while back when explaining airflow. I would like to hear how it works for you.

Interesting thoughts, I hadnt considered that constant air flow may be a negative thing. I had just figured it would constantly move the humidity from low to high and keep the RH evenly throughout to the fridge.

It sounds like many believe the timing of the oust fan, (5mins every 15mins) works better than constant air flow.

Maybe I will get both and see.

Thanks

So I put one of these in my wine fridge:

And prior to doing so I was having issues distributing the RH, at the bottom it was like 80% and at the top it was %65.

After putting the RV fan at the bottom corner pushing air up I have a solid 69% at top and 71% at the bottom. It has been consistent for about 2 days now.

I understand the concern of the constant air flow drying out the cigars if exposed, however I am keeping them in cigar boxes and maybe later, closed shelves.
So it appears the RV fan has saved the day, it pushes much more air than the Oust fans.

I do have 2 oust fans in there, one pointing at the back for the water accumulation
and on the top shelf blowing forward.

So in the end the RV fan that runs continuously by 2D batteries seems to be my solution.

Thanks for reading
