I just wanted to jump in and mention that this is the truest definition of a small batch and truthfully warrants the price more than any of my other cigars. Honestly way more than all the $20+ cigars on the market that aren't even small batch.....Most are bullshit vintages and many are regular production, buy all you want every day of the week for $30.

Yes I make a lot of fun small production products and most I could reproduce again and again because they are just different blends and different sizes. The Monster is a good example. I could make Frank again but I have moved on to the next year Monster.

This cigar, I can't make ever again. I don't have anymore 2008 tobacco from La Estrella to work with....I can repeat the size but I need to move on to the next vintage crop.....

This is just like a wine. You can't make anymore 2005 vintage wine with 2006 grapes.

Monsters and the custom retailer projects I make are fun ways to promote the brand, reward retailers and give the consumers a twist on the normal Tatuaje. This project is serious shit that I put my blood into. Something real and honest in the cigar business.....

Sorry for the rant.....

Pete

Sorry if I offfended you Pete. It was not my intention at all. I was meerly pointing out that I'm so friggin broke right now and between you and Viaje, both have bled me dry! I think the product is fantastic and I'm just upset I can't afford to get a box right now. I had the event 08 and absolutly loved it which is why I want the LV. I just don't have the funds and fustrated. I have no doubt about your integrity or I wouldn't respond or smoke your product so again my sincerest apologies.

Hey Ciggy,

Sorry, I just wanted to explain the brand and the truth behind it. When we run into each other, we will smoke one together. My treat.

I wish Pete Johnson would go on a "rant" more often. I learned more about cigars from the above post than I have during my entire two year subscription to Cigar Aficianado

BTW, I want to thank everyone that has taken a chance on me and my first vintage. I promise to work hard to make this and future vintages unique experiences in cigar smoking.
I am very excited for these. In my experience single origin coffee and single origin wines are the best, and are typically made by artisans that want to show case their craft and their product. I can not wait to see what these are like and how they will be in the future.

Darnit I had convinced myself that I just wasn't gonna get a box, just a couple of singles until Pete's "rant". His passion convinced me that I NEED a least a 10 of each.

I like the futures concept. I've been buying wine futures for years. With many of the futures selling for 1/2 the projected retail price, it is a great way to get into some wines that I just wouldn't pay the money for. I'm much more likely to pay $70 a bottle for a half case of Cab than I am to even buy a single bottle at $135. In order for the concept to work you have to have confidence that the producer will not put out crap - an easy task with Tatuaje.

I find it astounding how easy it is for Pete to separate me from my cash.
