So my last act of creativity prior to my move was building my first Cigar Box Guitar.
Excuse the crappy photography, I literally took these with my phone the day we moved... ha ha!
Yes, that is an electric output you see. This little three stringer is tuned to an open chord and will plug straight into an amp for some slide blues awesomeness.
I used a Flying Pig box due to the shape lending itself to this project, and it looks pretty snazzy... Oak for the neck, and the rest was spare parts picked up from trashed gear a friend of mine had laying around. The pickup is a cannibalized $1.99 Piezo buzzer from Radio Shack hot glued onto the inside of the box.
All in, we have about $25 invested! Now I gotta cure this itch to make a few more... they are amazingly simple to do, and I gotta tell you, the sound that comes outta this thing put one of the biggest smiles ever on my face! I will be putting a full length write-up on my blog within the next couple of weeks, but I couldn't wait to share this one with my brothers first!
One last pic for now.
