This Friday I start the long drive from Ohio to the Outerbanks for a week of sun and fun. Looking forward to spending time with the kind and watching the sights on the beach.

Does anyone know of some good shops near corolla, NC? I googled and only found a few that were an hour or more away..

Also, I figured this was the perfect time to bring out some of the smokes I could not in good conscious light up while sitting in my garage. On the menu for the week will be:

Cohiba Gran Reserva siglo VI
Opus Robusto from '96 or '99 (Thanks Adam)
Edmundo Dantes El Conde 109
La Maravilla (my last one :( )
Tat Frank
WCD Cabiguan 120
BHK 54

Will try to take pics and post reviews of them when I return, or I may just enjoy them and forget about the reviews who knows.......

If anyone is in the area, let me know!

Forget about the reviews...just enjoy them! I don't know how particular you are about burn lines and ash length, but if you are, I'd avoid smoking them on the beach itself.

In corolla down in their little like tourist trap shopping area there is a little wine store that has a walk in humidor. nothing too special and over priced a bit. he did not have a lot of cigars when I was there and he said that his shipments come in speradically. You renting a house? if so...which one...if it has a name. Great spot for a vacation....very relaxing! Have a blast!

Yea, I thought about that and decided each would be an end of the day smoke back on the deck.

Well, in my opinion that ain't one of them....there's a reason it's nickname it the "Headache Beer!"

Eric, you will definately enjoy the Outer Banks my friend!

Have fun bro, I was hoping to find a place for my family in that same area for late august. Everywhere I looked is pretty packed up so if you know of any sites that have houses for rent let me know! I think I waited too long on this one! lol

Starz - I am heading to Corolla on Friday too. My parents live there. I am journeying with the wife from Phoenix. Trust me, there is no where great in my opinion to pick up sticks. I always travel with my own - enough for 1-2 per day. I was starting to think about what to pack myself. Things that I normally don't pull out of the humidor out home. I can't wait. If you need any restaurant reccos let me know.

Just did the same thing..drove from Ohio to corolla 2 weeks ago. BRING CIGARS! The only cigar shop I found in Corolla had crap...all Altidis and some Ghurkas and all WAY overprised. Luckily I brought a bunch...But seafood from the corner street vendor in Corolla...fresh catch daily and cheaper that the stores and certainly the dinners. WATCH YOUR SPEED! I got a ticket for 80 in a 55 coming out of West Virgina right into Ohio...the town is called Falling Rock and it drops from 65mph to 55mph and there is a speed trap there..cost me $255!!!! :cursing:

out there
I just got back from there. Me and some of my buddies just rode the North Carolina and South Carolina Coast on the motorcycles. We went down the outer banks and spent a night on Ocracoke Island. I love the OBX. Before I had kids the wife and I use to vacation on Ocracoke every year. Enjoy your trip!
