Most every Opus fiend I know say the '09 release has not been the best they've put out.
That said, I will still hunt and buy Opus. Some of the best sticks I've smoked have been Opus. Opus+age=craaaazy good.

I'll smoke a Petit Lancero any day of the week. :D

However, based on my friends that I trust, the 09's I'm buying are going down to age.
I would agree. An aged Opus X is completely different from a fresh one. It's like night and day.

IMHO...Same story as the (Cuban) Cohiba: Very good cigar, but not as good as the hype it has created for itself, and certainly not worth the $$$. There are many other brands that are consistently better.

Nothing wrong with not liking Opus. Different tastes for different palates. I've had my gripes with Opus and Fuente as a whole, but I still love 'em. Can you tell? (I was reorganizing the cabinets and pulled out all of my sealed and full boxes of Opus):

I especially love the Lost City, even though they're way overpriced.

What are the gripes, they can't meet your demand? :)
