absolutely... the age old American adage definitely applies. There's still a lot of smaller RG's produced that I love... but most are regular production. Nothing wrong with that at all, they are phenomenal as they are.I think this is due to the Americanization of cigars... "bigger is better". Keep in mind, BOTL is comprised of people who take cigars seriously and do more than just smoke one occasionally. I too started out smoking big fat cigars until I learned to appreciate the smaller ring gauges. I think for the most part, though, most people don't take cigars as seriously as we do. Thus, bigger is better, and the manufacturers are intelligently following the trend. Can't blame 'em, I guess, as long as they continue to produce the ones we seem to appreciate the most.
definitely was talking with pete the other night about this...in fact it might be showing up soon on a few more lines...Well, it will not be a Corona Gorda, but there is a smaller RG (MUCH smaller) Verocu being released this year...
In fact, Tatuaje has some REALLY great smaller RG cigars coming out this year, including the Petite Cazadore Reserva, and the aforementioned Verocu...

X2 :hearteyesI like a 46 - 50 ring gauge.
awesome pointdon't have a favorite. some sticks are better in a thin rg ,some in a large. whatever produces the best flavor for that particular cigar.
I like corona gordas because I can leave them in my mouth without my jaw starting to hurry. I don't chew on them though.I know why people smoke the smaller RGs for the nuances the cigar wrapper provides but the 60s, for me, stay a cooler smoker & I can chew away & not close it off. so for my style of smoking, light it & leave it in your mouth, 60 is the only way to go.
I think that goes without saying! :applause:don't have a favorite. some sticks are better in a thin rg ,some in a large. whatever produces the best flavor for that particular cigar.
the CAO Mx2 is totally "meh" in a bigger ring gauge... but the 38 RG Dagger might have some good flavors going on.don't have a favorite. some sticks are better in a thin rg ,some in a large. whatever produces the best flavor for that particular cigar.
not sure i've had a 28 before...one day. This is almost an impossible question to answer as I love 28-60 but I probably buy robustos when trying a new cigar more than I do any other vitola. So 50 by default
