I had a question, I went into my local B&M and I noticed that majority of the cigars and they have a lot were very soft, where they felt a bit squishy.

Does that mean they are over humidified?

If I am going to pick out a cigar it should be firm am I correct?

I did buy a cigar but one that was not too soft at all.

Thanks in advance

It probably means that the cigar is absorbing too much humidity. An overly moist cigar may have a moldy taste, and will be difficult to light or keep lighted.

burn issues will be a better scale of too moist...mold will be noticeable on the outside way before the inside.

to answer the question, i never pick my cigars by firmness since firm can mean plug.

Lots of B&M's still follow the 70% rule, although that is WAY to high for most enthusiasts. Therefore, the cigars may be over humidified.

Check the foot end...If they are cracked or look fatter than the rest of the cigar, then they are drawing up too much moisture, and are in the process of expanding to the point where the wrapper will start cracking.
