I just got my order in of a cab of petit robustos. Awesome deal BTW!

I took a look at a few of them and it seems the gold from the label came off and is now all over most of the cigars! I spoke with Dan, he told me all of them were this way? I have other sizes of La Rickys in my humi and they look great. Did you have the same problem??

Here are some pics from my phone.

I've got a bunch like that as well. I wouldn't worry too much. You could probably wipe them down with a damp cloth / distilled water if it bothers you. Actually, a bunch of cigars I have with gold on the bands are like this.

Same thing happens on the El Triunfadors. As has been said, it seems to be the bands.

you have to melt those sticks down and extract the gold as it rises to the top of the goo! after you've gone through about 1000 La Riquezas, you'll have enough to buy... a 5-pack of La Riquezas!

These are made for Tatuaje correct? Always something new with this brand. It just never ends. Wonder what kind of excuse they will have for this mishap. I dont know about you guys but smoking something that should not be there is not worth the price they charge for these. Just my opinion.

I'd imagine the band manufacturer is to blame. The cigars aren't flaking brown stuff on to the bands, its the other way around. This "issue" isn't exclusive to Tats. I don't understand why anyone cares honestly.

Fail.
What the heck does "Fail" mean. Oh, I forgot no one can say anything about this brand of cigars on here without some baby crying about it. Only the opinion of Tat smokers is what is important.
This is an open forum, anyone should be able to say what they want without being attacked.
Maybe you should buy real Cubans then you wont have that problem.

I know where you are coming from dude. This site certainly champions Tatuaje to a point where it is all that seems to be talked about. I like Pete the person and I like most of the cigars I have tried from Tatuaje, however, with SOOOOOOOOO many other cigars available I don't see pigeon holing myself to one brand.

Thats cool. I appreciate your opinion. I have nothing against Pete, he and I have discussed this matter. In the end it is just my opinion.

"Fail" probably means; you failed to make a valid point. If I'm not mistaken, you were the one crying about it. Justin was just pointing out La Ricky bands aren't the only bands that let off gold specks. I've seen them on a lot of the cuban'esque type bands, w/ gold on them. It's not Pete's fault, it's the person producing the bands more so than anything.
