Justin, so sorry to hear the news of your girlfriend's mom. I have added her and the family to my prayer list. Praying for you too, to have a safe drive back. Stop if you have to and get some rest. Let me know if I can be of any help.

I didn't make it. She just passed, and I'm still over 16 hours away. I hate that I couldn't have been there for my girl; but at least we were able to get her home last night, so she could still talk to her mom and be with her family.

Thank you Jeff. I did make it back right at 7PM last night. It was right at 48 since I pulled out of the RV park, till I pulled into the one by the house. I think that was a pretty good run-over 1800 miles, a dog that is a boring copilot, and towing a 30ft trailer. I parked the RV, and my girl and mom were here shortly afterwards-with real food. I ate, and then I slept. The dog couldn't possible by happier to be out of that back seat.

Now, time to start in on all the family things. Services are tomorrow, and we have a lot going on before that point. With any luck, I can sneak away with the boys, before I head back out on the road.

prayers offered up from one trucker for another and his family. Be safe, man.
Well, I'm not quite a trucker-but certainly a brother of the highway!

The services today went great. I've learned more about her in the past 2 days, then I've known int he past 9 years of being with her daughter. To sum it up-the funeral home pulled us aside afterwards and told us that they obviously see a lot of services day in and day out. Nearly all of them are routine, and pretty much the same. Ours, stood out as unique and special. A 6 year old granddaughter, started singing along to the final song of the service. Before it was over, most of the family was singing along.
