I'm having a brain fart guys, need help

Helped a buddy hook up new brake lights and marker lights on his boat trailer. Lights come on with brakes, turn signals, etc, but when the lights are turned on the brakes lights will not illuminate. What the hell did we miss? I know its simple but I am just too burnt out to think right now.

Fuses are all good. We were just looking again and it seems like we have to add an extra hot wire going back to the brake lights to compensate for the constant current required when the headlights are on. Of course, that is our opinion after a few beers lol

If unplugging it and plugging it back in doesn't work, try kicking it. If that doesn't work, have more beers.

I've seen this happen before and it is always how the truck side is wired.

Is the truck side 4, 5 or 6 way? (4 & 5 are flat , 6 is round style)

That is funny! Seriously, if the truck has amber turn signals you will have to install a 3 to 2 converter that will work for plugging in the trailer. http://www.accessconnect.com/taillight_converter.htm

How I try to fix anything is with a hammer. Probably not the best advice though.
