I tried to see if there was a thread like this already and couldn't so forgive me (and point me in the right direction) if there is one. Are there certain cigars that you smoke more of at certain times of the year? For instance with beer I tend to drink more IPA and Hefewiezen in the summer and more Stouts and Porters in the winter. I haven't really been smoking cigars long enough to notice a trend like that, but thought some of the more seasoned :)grin: couldn't resist) smokers could lend some insight.

It's almost always spring time here, so I grab what I want when I want it with out concern to the Season. Well when Acid Releases the X-mas Eggnog blend I'll smoke that by the fire on X-mas Eve.

Nope, love eggnog...well real eggnog with booze, not the cheap crap at the store. Just don't care for Acids all that much.

You gotta admit an eggnog flavored stick does sound good., and seasonal. Im not that seasoned of a smoker to tell which I like most in certain seasons but I do know here in philly it gets cold so a short stick sounds good especially when it's 20 degrees outside.

I generally stick to med-full smokes throughout the year.

I know that this thread was not about this but:
Seasonal sticks seems like a marketing ploy much like Seasonal beer.
If the beer was good enough to be released all year round then it would be...

I absolutely think it's not only smart marketing, but a reality for smoking different stogies in different seasons. When it's cold a big fat salomon just isn't going to ta happen. When I lived in California, it didn't matter. But in Germany or anywhere else it gets really cold. Not gonna happen. I like short fat smokes anytime of the year but they are a must in the cold.

But I think that's not what your question is. I think you are talking more about a certain flavor profile to fit the season. That to me is more interesting and as far as I know, an untapped niche. Some companies have released summer blends or what have you, but was there a reason that blend fit that season? I don't know. Should it? Absolutely.

That leads to my conclusion; there are already varying sizes, so choose accordingly. We already know we drink different libations according to season so it shouldnt be hard to pair a cigar with that libation. And to touch on what was already mentioned, ixnay on the Eggnog, i'll wait for the Pumpkin Pie infused Acid!

I have to disagree. Somtimes yes, but other times it's about that certain beer better fitting the time of the year. Or the ingredients being available a certain time of the year (in the case of pumpkin ale).

That's exactly what I was talking about. Thanks for the link. I think I've already seen the thread, but I'll check it out.

Being from Michigan we get the same weather pattern however I'm not sure about an Eggnog flavor stick..It does sound creamy but I would have to have the Rum close at hand! :cbig:
We could have Drew make something like that and give it to Larry for a test drive...He loves thoes flavored cigars!! :tonguerol:rolling::rolling:

I tend to agree that it may be more of a marketing thing. Seems to me like I always see more of the mass-market cigars at the convenience stores in the summer time. Black & Mild is running their singles in a 2-pack for price of a single, and there are a lot of flavors too. Maybe they think we'll buy more flavored cigars in the summer ... and maybe they will thus create a seasonal influence?
