criminal background investigations

I was curious if you guys know of a good site that does criminal background investigations? or is there anywhere I can go locally and get a criminal investigation background check done?

go to your local governments page...like I go to michigan.gov. it does not give everything...but will show pending charges... incarcerated... parolees... etc...
There are also companies like esteem and such that do it for a fee...just google...

Do you mean one for yourself, or on someone else?

With the police dept that I work for, all you have to do is go to your local office and fill out the form. I think they charge you $25 or it's free if it's for volunteer positions.

We use an internet service when hiring new employees. Full background check including criminal based on public records for $80 each. Google for them and you have a number of choices but it's all the same service.

Not sure.....? Do you have a daughter getting a background check on her boyfriend? LoL...I will when I have too.

The reason why I want to know is because my new neighbor next door is a real wack job. One of my other neighbors who tends to exaderate things sometimes. Told me that he's been to prison? If so I want to know what for? And better secure my place and get a locked mail box.
