God forbid the people who drink them take responsibility for their own actions.. I'm so glad our Gov't knows just what is best for me since I have no self control and clearly have no idea what is good for me and what isn't...

Man stuff like this just pisses me off..

You know even though I don't drink soda I think those that want to drink it should be able to drink soda. A much as I dislike cigarettes I won't join the anti crowd because after they get cigarettes, who's next on the smoking firing line?

It's the Liberal version of Prohibition, it started years ago and it WON'T stop unti we stop these idiots from making laws. (Has anyone hear read Fahrenheit 451?)

You just wait, the way things are going:

--there will be mandatory, government enforced exercise programs before long, just like there are here in many parts of Japan.

-you will have to have a permit (obtained beforehand by the discretion of the government) to give birth to a child legally

--people who go to the same church virtually every week will be considered zealots for not being more "open-minded"

--and tons of other things I'd rather not think about

I talk to people all the time who say "Oh, things like that could never happen in America! Never!" And with the same breath are talking about all the things that are happening right NOW in America that they just can't believe.

In the history of humanity, every time a government has taken away the rights of the people and leaped into authoritarianism, I guarantee you that most of the masses believed firmly that "That kind of thing couldn't happen here."

It's kinda like the helmet laws some states have, I will never ride a motorcycle without a helmet but I will support your right to ride without one if you want to.

Agreed. Never rode without a helmet, except in my own apt complexes' parking lot, but I'll be damned if I won't support someone's right to do it.

Supposedly the "land of the free"... whatever happened to that?

Or the conservative Czar's war on drugs.
I don't care who's war on drugs it is, it's a waste of time and money. Let people that want to do drugs have them. I never wanted to but hey if someone else wants to let them have at it. Just treat it like alcohol and give someone a DUI if it's impairing them when they try to do certain activities.

Allow moral norms and societal values guide us instead of morally corrupt individuals that have been elected to an office 15 years ago.
