NHL 2010-2011...Preseason is here!

I don't know about you guys, but last night marked the start of my favorite season for sports.. the NHL starting back up.

I'm sure there are other hockey fans out there. I know there's gotta be some with the fantasy hockey league that's looking to be started...

Who's your team? Favorite current player? Favorite all time player?

I'll even start:

Team: Boston Bruins. Been a fan since birth, but not old enough to have seen them win a cup yet....

Current player: Currently, Marc Savard. Love the playmaking ability he possesses. Able to make that gorgeous pass, control the power play, and when needed find his own shot in the back of the net. It's too bad he's likely to start the season on the IR because of that a**hole matt cooke and his blindside hit.

All time player: Cam Neely.. I was really learning the most about the game and my Bruins when watching Neely play. My best memory is being at a game with my Dad and Uncle at the old Garden watching Neely notch a hat trick.

It looks like the BOTL NHL Fantasy league is official as there are enough teams to start it up. Anyway, my favorite team is The Blackhawks, with the Kings second.

Sticking with the "hometown" theme, my current favorite player is Duncan Keith. Not too big for a D-man, but gets the job done with excellent speed and skill and toughness for his size. Great on O while protecting the back end too.

favorite all time on the hawks. . .probably would be Chelios.

favorite all time non-hawk, easy. . .Mario Lemieux.

When Chelios was playing in the AHL last year, I got to see him play a number of times against the Texas Stars here just outside of Austin. It was a privilege to be able to see him play again even if it was in the AHL.





I was on the glass this game in his D zone for two periods.. Quite the treat for this game. He notched an assist in the second period I believe.

Ha...not a big hockey fan but I am a hometown faithful so Go Flyers, Eric lindros was the man at one point in time, been a philly sports fan since birth Baby!

I never got to see him play in Montreal, but did see him with the Hawks and the hated Wings. Actually, Chelios and Neely both have that same type of edge to them when they played. Loved it.

Cam was a beast...Hell, still is. haha loved watching him play when i was still playing the game. i thought it was badass how quickly he recovered from his major knee surgery. that was rough.

GO WINGS!!!!!! wearing my shirt and hat today. we play tonight! LOVE HOCKEY SEASON! all time player: Bobby Orr by far. got his autograph on his famous picture from when they won the cup. my dad met him a long time ago when i was 2 years old and got his autograph.

favorite player: Pavel Datsyuk, C for the wings. amazing young kid that grew so much off his rookie year. he will be even better this year.

I'm wicked excited that Cam was named President of the bruins this past year.. The way he played the game and the way he envisions the core of the Bruins in the future are definitely gonna help this team and hopefully lead towards a Stanley Cup.

I got nothin' but respect for the Wings. I'll actually be watching them against Dallas this year in Dallas for Modano's return.. That should be a good game. I hope Modano rips a hat trick and beats up on Dallas for not offering him a contract this last year.

Funny, that's what my wife said the other day. She said it was nice not having it consume so much of my time. No yelling and screaming at the tv like a madman, no more planning days and nights around the schedule, etc. Oh well, the break is over real soon.

Time to start working on that repeat!!!!
