I had never smoked one before, one of my fine BOTL'ers bombed me with one and it was quite enjoyable. I saved the band it was in fact a Oscuro Fuerte.

I agree that the Oscuro Fuerte is the better smoke. Which isn't to say the regular line is a bad cigar, but the OF is the stronger and more flavorful of the two

Bought a flight sampler a couple years ago and found them boring. OK for walking the dog, but nothing special. Was gifted a churchill last week and smoked it last night while out for a walk. My opinion hasn't changed at all. Burn was outstanding. Draw was good. Taste was not objectionable, but far from remarkable. Found myself wishing it were a corona or robusto. Tossed it shortly after halfway point.

I personally love the La Herencia Cubana, especially the robustos. Great construction. They start off with a strong pepper kick (not quite up to Pepin standards) but then mellow out nicely leaving a rich leathery flavor with underlying spice.

These are made by AJ Fernandez so quality is top notch. I also like the Obsuro Fuertes but I'm not a huge maduro fan. These aren't as spicy as the original and have a more heavy flavor due to the PA broadleaf wrapper.

You can't go wrong with either, but the naturals are a mainstay in my humidor.

I think I am in the minority. I like the original and find the OF burnt and charry.
I pretty much agree with this. The Oscuro seemed flat to me but I tried them right after they were released so they maybe they have opened up since then.

I have gone through several of the original in the Lonsdale vitola and each one of them has had a hint of green melon flavor. Never experienced this in any other cigar but it is good and they burn perfectly. Great value cigar in my opinion.
