Here I was, smoking this Oliva Special V Figurado and enjoying the hell out of it...cool breeze blowing through the truck, sunset in my face while Im enjoying this as well as a Coke. I always set the cigar n the window sill of the truck while Im sitting still and did so again tonight. Went to pick it up and it was gone. Looked out of the window and there it was on the ground with a mushroomed foot. It must have fallen right onto the foot. Tried to finish it, but it was mangled. Is there anything I could have done to fix it?

Probably not for the short term, but you could have taken it home and doctored the wrapper with fruit pectin and smoked it on another day.

I was enjoying the hell out of it too. Had to throw away a RP vintage today because it just plain SUCKED and then this. between the two of them, I haven't done a whole stick.

if you had butane to spare, you could have burnt the mangled part right off. alternatively, using a very sharp cutter with a large enuf ring gauge size, you could slice off the damaged part. depending on construction and where you cut, the wrapper might start to unravel but a bit of coke to hold it together before pre-light and some touch ups with a torch may have salvaged it.

Dude, I work in trucking. I live it 24/7. I take care of about 150 power units and about 400 trailers. You need to get a lounge chair and kick back outside the truck to enjoy a cigar, just saying.

What an excellent thought. I have a lounge chair on the truck...just never thought about sitting outside with it. Hmmm...me thinks I have a new hobby starting tomorrow. :stretchgr

I agree with the others...If possible, just grab your cutter and slice off the damaged portion...Especially with a Oliva V figurado! Those are nice cigars :)

Nice isn't the word for it...Im telling you, I was enjoying it more than I have any in a while. Should have chopped it off, but didn't think about it.

RonC has a nice assortment of holders that might prevent the rolling around...etc... not the way to fix the stick...but an ounce of prevention?

My condolences. The Oliva V figurado is one of my favorites. I would have dropped to my knees and tried to administer CPR to the poor thing!
