The Navy is COOL Again!!!!

his is the USS Independence (LCS 2). It was built at the Austal shipyard in Mobile, Alabama. These are photos the USS Independence's test trials for final inspection by the Navy. Good job Tide.

I feel like I saw a special on the history channel or something with a similar ship with the ability to drop 4 choppers on it's back side. Kinda looked like this one.

A friend from the fish site took me and my nephew on a tour of Norfolk and we saw a couple that looked like that very cool! when we took the tour there was like 80 ships in port was a very fun boat tour smoking cigars of the back of the boat.

How true is that I would love to go on this boat compared to the ones I have been on. I believe another company built one similar. They are going after the same contract. Look up the stats on this boat the top speed and everything it is truly awesome.

My father is retired marine.. He always used to say that the only reason the Navy existed is because God wouldn't let the marines walk on water. :agreeclen

That is one of the coolest looking boats I have ever seen.

And to think a crew of 40 run it! When I was on a FFG fully loaded a crew of 220+ and a DDG was like 300+...all three ships are ruffly the same size. Gotta love Technology!

Yep, watched the same special, they were deployed off the coast of Africa I think. Great looking ship!
