Just had my first T52 (robusto) and I was going to write a review. However, I had such problems with the burn, that I didn't think it would be a fair representation of what I have heard is a great smoke from a well regarded brand.

It started well, and then went out several times. Basically he wrapper was not keeping up with the cigar. Constant touch ups were needed, and three relights.

About 2/3 in, I looked down and noticed what I thought was a big piece of ash on the wrapper, but no...The wrapper was buring through on its own, creating an "island" in the wrapper! I have never seen that before.

At one point, the ash dropped, and instead of the (desired) cone shaped cherry, there was a tunnel going about 1/2" into the center of the cigar...Kinda like looking into a volcano... WTF?

NOTE: I just got these in yesterday, so benefit of the doubt may go to not resting them, but again...I have never experienced such weird burn issues, especially from a notable brand.

Anyone else have any problems with the T52's?

Had something similar to this not that long ago with a T 52 Toro. Was a fresh box......no doubt about it for me.......was just too wet (didn't help, it was humid as fugg where I was smoking it).

Let the next one dry box for a day or two if you plan to smoke it right away...problem solved.

Otherwise, just let'em acclimate.

Always remember its a hand made product, so no matter how good the quality control is some bad sticks will get through. Id say its either a bad stick or as you said it just didnt get the required rest needed. Revisit them a month or 2 down the road and I can almost 100% guaruntee your experience will be different.

Bummer.....

Ironically, every LP product I've had has had excellent construction and a stellar burn.

Did you check the box date? I would let them rest. That said, who could blame you for jumping right in? :)

P.s. Box split on Clint's second box? Anybody? Bueller? I kid, I kid! :)

only on a couple of samples that came with box purchase. 3 or 4 out of 5 were like that. Box was perfect.

I have had this happen to me a few times. The best thing you can do with them is let them sit for at least a few weeks. I had a box that was tunneling like crazy and i let them sit for a few weeks and they started to smoke fine.

I dont smoke any Liga or T52 product that doesnt have 6 months rest now. I've smoked several 52sOR from last year the last few months and the taste burn etc are almost incomparable to the freshies imo.

Thanks, guys...I do think I just need to let them rest as I normally do. Just so anxious to experience this cigar!
I dont blame you for jumping right in. I have only smoked one 52, and it was great. They are on the short list for box purchase for sure.

Sorry to hear that. Smoked half a box so far with no issues. Got to slow down and get another box of them.

Like some said may be a little moist.

Haven't had it happen on a LP cigar yet but I have had other cigars do it. Just a fluke I think where the filler didn't get arranged properly when rolling. I had one of the DPG black figurados start at the tapered foot and then burned out and through the wrapper 2" lower on the cigar. I know that wasn't a humidity issue it was just construction.
