What cigar do you really enjoy that has a bad reputation?

OK, I have no idea why some folks do not like these. I think they are awesome.

The Perdomo Squared Box Pressed Maduro Limited Edition. These are a go to for me.

Do you like a smoke that has a bad wrap?

Nub Cameroon. Not necessarily a bad rap, but it's not some prize around here. One can't live on Padron, Liga Privada, and/or Tatuage on a daily basis.

Throw in an Epernay or Elogio a Nub now and again, and you just may have something. :)

Not really a bad rep, but the Don Tomas Clasico is not exactly a "higher end" cigar.

I could smoke one every day.

Most of us can't smoke the expensive stuff all the time, and so we don't. I'd guess many of us smoke cheaper "everyday cigars" more than we let on or post about in the "Today's Smoke" thread. I'm not implying that we're fakers or something, just that "I smoked a decent cigar today" isn't much to post about compared to the "sweet weekend cigar" you had a few days earlier.

I smoke a number of RPs, CAOs, Gurkhas, NUBs, Toranos, and others that either get a bad rap here or at least no love. A couple others I can think of are the R&J Viejo and Gran Habano #5 ... great cigars for the money, imvho.

There are a TON of really awesome cigars to be had for under $4 if you look hard. I'd rather smoke an LP, Anejo, or PAM than those, but hey, I'm not made of money.

what i continue to smoke despite the (bad rap) - famous buenos maduritos (tight draw, lots of stems), victor sinclairs with the ecuadorian sungrown wrapper (one dimensional), rocky patel vintage seconds (inconsistent) , tampa sweetheart maduros (amateur rollers), mr. b lonsdale maduros (mixed filler). love 'em for their flavor, warts and all. :inlove:

what i've recently smoked with a bad Wrap - tat red verocu tubo, macanudo vintage 2000 (both wrappers with inch long cracks at the foot). lol! sorry bro, couldn't help myself. :headroll: come to think of it, both smokes have a bad/mixed rep too.

I agree - I usually only post the more popular stuff on the TS thread; not that I'm ashamed of the tasty Rocky Patel OWR, Nica Libre, or some of my other favorite budget sticks. But, I do tip my hat to the guys that don't hesitate to post the "bad rap" daily smoke.

Gurkha gets smacked around a lot, and consequently, I've yet to smoke any of the several vitolas I have...

When I think of cigars with a bad reputation very few mentioned so far are ones Id ever think of.

Gurkha Park Avenue is my guilty pleasure, great cigar for the money. Id pay double the price they go for if I had to.

Savinelli Special Selection 2005 is a rarely mentioned Fuente premium cigar. Not that is has a bad reputation but (no reputation). I've been through several boxes and assure you they are worth a try.

Not sure they have a bad rap, but i do still like the Don Kiki Red labels.
The one you bombed me with was a nice smoke.

I think mine would be CAO. I love the Brazilia, and the mx2 as well. Not sure they have a bad rap, but they always seem to have a shadow cast over them
