They still need to update it to include their limited releases like Tatuaje's website. Looks good though.

Looks to me like someone has a big ego... glad his company is all about Andre sitting on a throne and not the cigar. LOL

They really cut back their retailers... 98 by my count.
They cut back on the retailers??

I have heard otherwise.... involving the retailers cutting back on selling Viaje. Something to do with logistics, angry waiting customers, and incorrect orders. I have heard this from 3 local retailers (local to me).

They are still very good cigars (the few I've had)

That was my same thought. Hopefully they'll do that in 2011.

I was a bit taken aback by that as well. Detracts a bit from the site in my opinion.

I doubt that over half of their retailers would drop such a hot brand over that kind of thing. Maybe it is a little of both. I heard that one of their regional distributors because THEY were cutting shops.

If you can't supply the customers you have, scale back. It is actually a good move.

Probably more than half their retailers aren't included in the limited releases which is the hot part of their company...

Seriously? Viaje is pretty good, if you don't count the regular production (yeah, not the best business model for the everyday smoker, I know!)

The Exclusivo Jar Release was hands down one of THE best cigars I have ever smoked, and I've tasted quite a few cigars over the past 20 years.

But how hot is the brand, really? I know they get a lot of love on the interwebs, do their sales warrant a retailer putting up with stuff? I have no idea, just wondering.

As to updating the site with all their limited release sticks ... they'd need to buy a lot more server space to handle that.

Clint.. I'm not saying anything about the cigar. I'm mocking his website. Did you not see a big ass picture of him on all their pages? Pretty lame if you ask me.

Nate, I agree 100%. Viaje is popular on the cigar forums, but how popular in the actual B&M's??? If that's what he wants, all the power to him.

They sell pretty well in the b&m I go to... I don't know about other places obviously.

Cutting back on the number of retailers would help with being able to get some of the special releases to each retailer. I think 200 boxes isn't enough boxes for nationwide releases though.

"Hot brand" is a relative term. 2 of the Shops i talked to all quit carrying them like 2 years ago. This "new hottness" must be the re-relighting of that flame.

Were you thinking they were a much newer brand?

I was excited about the new website until I saw it was Farkas everywhere. Very lame. I enjoy his smokes though.
