I know that the Monte is going to be the run away winner here. But I prefer the Upmann No.2, in fact I enjoyed one last night while watching Brock Lessner get his face busted up.:applause:
Disagree. Have you had the 08 or 09 Upmann #2s? You are the first person I can recall who has not had a positive opinion on them. Consensus on multiple other boards is that current Upmann #2s are smoking excellent. I also think they are smoking great.
Your not alone brother. I prefer the Upmann #2 a lot more. Funny I like the Monte Edmundo and PE a lot, but just dont like the Monte #2 at all. Had another 2 days ago and its the same everytime, just not for me. Close to a box worth now and just don't like them.

Well, he didn't say they were bad, he just stated his opinion which is that the Monte's are better fresh. I happen to agree. Upmann's are notorious for needing time to come into themselves. But that doesn't necessarily mean they are bad.

For the record he stated the Upmann #2 needed time and that was what I based my reply on not his preference. That was why I asked him if he had smoked any recent production Upmann #2 as I don't believe this is the current case and mentioned the 08 and 09 smoking very good and being popular with those who have them. Being he was referring to 01s. I dont believe it was unreasonable to ask if he had smoked an 08 or 09 and share my view having smoked a fair number of both Monte #2 and Upmann #2 from 08 and 09.
Largely thought I think it may just be a pallet preference with these sticks. Obviously the Monte #2 is one of the best selling Habanos for a reason. As I said before it doesnt do it for me. I keep smoking them though waiting for a positive experience.

For the record, his first sentence was the Monte 2's Are better fresh, which is what i said he said. And, for the record, I never said your question was unreasonable. In fact, it is a good question. I just was pointing out he never said they were bad, that's all.
