Twice last week I had the privilege of taking some time off to enjoy a big cigar. While you guys were still sleeping, I decided to go to the beach and usher in the new day properly :)

Morning One:

This was a Boli CG from 1998. The draw was a bit tight, but I still got a lot of out of this big stick. Deliciously creamy, a woody core with a decent amount of spice despite the age of the cigar. That luscious, velvety aged tobacco quality coated my palate for a good two hours while I enjoyed the waves, gulls, and watching surfers trying to catch waves.

The tide was slowly coming in and I was almost getting wet by the time I was finished. Awesome cigar!

Morning Two:

I just got a fresh-rolled sampler of Johnny-O cigars, which I'd never tried. When I say fresh, I mean it--these things are still wet. In fact, they are so wet that I was worried I'd have burn issues (I could squeeze these as hard as I could without cracking the wrapper), but it wasn't a problem. This size is the XBMF, rolled to mimic the Opus X BBMF. A gorgeous looking cigar in every way.

If opened strong, with cereal-like flavors that reminded me a lot of a Tatuaje Especiales, which is one of my favorite cigars for a morning I want something stronger. After an inch or so, leathery sweetness started coming in, and would eventually become the dominant profile. That reminded me of the VR Famoso I had a couple weeks ago, though not quite as tangy. It was full-flavored throughout and med-full body, but only medium in strength, which was good as this is a huge cigar for the morning, lol. Really great cigar, I'll probably go through this sampler fairly quick if time permits.

I hope all your days can start out as great as these two did!

Been three times and is by FAR my favorite place to visit so far. Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, and Hokkaido. The beaches are awesome.

Well, aside from NYC, but that's a whole different animal! :)

Wow, very scenic. How far do you live from the beach?

Dan
Nothing netter than a great cigar t the beach.
I totally agree! I love smoking on the beach. I don't get to do it very often because of the kids, but I try to bargain with my wife to go at least once a month.

Our house is about 7 minutes from the ocean :) You exit our dirt road, take a right, and run into the breakers, lol. This means that I am literally one of the first people on planet earth to see the sun on any given day. What's cool about rural Japan is that most of the shoreline is just open, not full of houses and hotels and what not (partially because the the threat of Tsunamis). Virtually everything is public.

The beach in these pictures is the "far" one, about 15-minutes away.

Great pictures.

Cigars on a beach in Japan. Sounds wonderful. Unfortunately when I lived there I wasn't old enough to partake in stogies.

Ohayo gosaymas! Did u find what breakfast sushi goes best with those power smokes?
sushi + cigars = vomit :rolling:

Actually, I do like sushi, though they have way too much sashimi here (uncooked fish in the sushi), which I"m not a fan of. But the fresh fish here is amazing and cheap (especially for here). We have salmon twice a week, and usually scallops at least once.
