Cigars in Tokyo, Japan

Hello fellow BOTL'ers! I was in Japan last week and "as luck would have it" there was a cigar boutique in the hotel (Imperial Hotel Tokyo). They had a nice selection of CC and non-CC sticks. Prices were what I'd call HIGH so I didn't even bother with non-CC sticks. I went straight for the CCs. Tokyo is PRICEY and with the US Dollar and the Yen being what they are, it hurt. But anyway...I bought a total of 8 sticks at a total of 13,500 yen, that equals $188 or so, at an average of $23.50 per stick.

The hotel lobby was QUITE impressive, a great place to enjoy a nice Scotch, listen to some music and smoke the night away!

Last time I was in the Japan we came across a cigar/wine boutique in the Roppongi section and it was totally decked out!

That short Boli pyramide looks awesome!

Will definitely hit you up before going back!

I might have, can't 100% recall, I was more focused on the bottom 2 shelves. I looked up towards the top of the humi and saw a bunch of "easily available back home" stick and I quickly re-focused.

Tokyo is pretty cool. Did you go to the Imperial Gardens? I spent a week in Tokyo an really enjoyed it! I miss the Yakisoba!!

Tom, we never had sushi while in Japan, largely because GOOD sushi was EXPENSIVE, and exceptional sushi was STRATOSPHERIC!

That said, we ate very well, zig-zagging the back alleys of Tokyo and Osaka. That country is a delight!

Besides, after you have eaten sushi at Sushi Yasuda in NYC....I doubt it can get any better than that.

Didn't hit the Imperial Gardens, we had a pretty tight schedule. I was there primarily for business but we had a GREAT time too! It was "Planes, Trains & Automobiles (Bus/Coach)"....we went all over the country.

Here was our itinerary:

-Landed at NRT (Tokyo Narita Airport)
-2 nights in Tokyo, this included sightseeing (Asakusa Temple, Tokyo Tower, Ginza District, nightlife, etc), press conference (we all had headsets with translators), banquet dinners (French/Japanese fusion cuisine and ALOT of French wine/Champage, I know, redundant LOL), JIMTOF tradeshow (Japanese International Machine Tool Fair)
-Bullet Train to Nagoya (FAST and SMOOTH, this is THE way to travel, I MUCH prefer it to flying)
-1 night in Nagoya with more French/Japanese fusion cuisine (and a great British Pub!)
-Coach to the client's 3 factories in Iga and Nara and then on to the Yakushi-ji Temple in Nara
-1 night in Osaka and our last night out.
Up at 5 am and flew from Osaka to NRT then to ORD (where our group is based) then to DFW.

Jet lag is a booger! To put it into perspective, when I got up at 5 am on Saturday in Osaka, it was 3 pm Friday HERE (DFW)...I didn't get home until 2 pm Saturday, but remember, I landed in the US before I took off from Japan! So, I was up from 3 pm Friday, had two Saturdays and went to bed Saturday night....gotta love "time/inertnational dateline travel!" weeeeeeeee!!!! I'm almost recovered....
