Romeo y Julieta Short Churchills

Box Code: SAG NOV 09

Date:9/16/10, Very Windy

Construction: These sticks are light brown, and smooth

Pre-Light Aroma-Barnyard
Pre-Light Draw-Slightly Restrictive with a Light Tobacco Taste

1/3--It started off with a leather taste into a remarkable sweet cedar! Tons of smoke! It lost the sweet edge and went into just cedar, with a woody finish.

2/3--The 2/3 started with that same woody flavor, which went to a milk chocolate. Then switched to sweet gram cracker, into red licorice!

3/3--Started off with cinnamon, and then switched to a meaty/potato flavor down to the nub with the cinnamon returning right at the end when I couldn't hold it any longer!

Draw:perfect!
Burn:perfect, Sharp!

Med-Full

Wrap-Up:Very Complex Stick. What great flavor! The best cedar taste I've ever experienced. This was the second stick from this box, the first one was just as good with more chocolate mixed in. I will be stocking up on that box code!

Total Smoke Time: 1:32

Great review. Can't wait to try these. Have a box of 10 en route along with some PSD4's! Cheers.

The first one I had was from '07.Elegant,smooth and very aromatic. The best RyJ I have smoked in years, exactly enough of everything I enjoy in a cigar.
The current batch is from Dec. '09. Good now,but looking forward to trying these after some serious ageing.....

While I'm not a big R&J fan I tried a short churchill in a Blind review and really liked it. Purchased a 10ct box right after that and the first few where a hit as well. But I think they may now be going through a sick period as the last couple I've tried have been kind of bland.

Nice review and pic's.

Nice review! I've had 2, totally different occasions, don't know the ages.. First one was nearly plugged, though amazingly still tasted very good. The 2nd was also messed-up construction-wise (had to relight like 5 times), but also tasted great.

I'll reserve judgement until I decide on the construction issues, but if those were a fluke, then this is a potential Top 10 for me.

I've only had one of these a couple months back but I really enjoyed it. Alot of the brothers told me a good one is far and few between so I balked on buying. I may have to reconcider. Thanks for the great review!!
