My introduction to Drew Estate was the Lige Privada cigars.

I'll just say, it was a great first impression.

It wasn't 'til late that I found out Drew Estate also created ACID, and is (mainly) known for flavoured cigars.

So what are their "Natural" cigars? You know, the ones with the band shaped like a leaf?

Are they just traditional cigars? Are they good?

What about "Natural Dirt"?

A few years ago when I was into cigars before I stopped until this past August I had only known DE for the Acids. Kinda curious about the Naturals as well.

It's weird that Liga Privada is like, a departure for them.

No. 9 was a good cigar that I felt was a little over-priced and over-hyped.

T52 blew my socks off and left me drooling for more.

I'm not a big fan of them. The Naturals are also flavored. I have a full Natural sampler if you want to try them out. My girlfriend got them for me for my bday, and I haven't touched them. Let me know.

Try the Joya de Nicaragua Fuerte Serie B from CI. It's not close to an LP but it's a decent yard gar with some age on it. Just my 2 cents.

The naturals are more like pipe tobacco. Some are "infused" some are not. If you like infused, try the Irish Hops. If you want more "natural" try the Dirt. They are all ok. If you started out smoking Acids, like I did, the Naturals ease you into smoking full flavored traditional cigars. Since I aquired the taste for traditional cigars, most of the infused line has become unsmokeable to me. That being said, for a change of pace once in a while I will smoke an Irish Hops or Kuba Maduro or Atom Maduro. Recently I had a CI LEgends Copper label that was better than any Acid I have ever had. Anyway, the Naturals are a good halfway point between Acids and the Liga Privada. Just never pay full retail.

But it says in the advertisement for them (in the CI catalogue) that they are not flavoured at all, they just contain "very unique tobaccos"??

Maybe they're not. In that case, I don't care for that tobacco. Maybe I'm an oddball or something. :dunno:

I tried a Natural Dirt back when I was really getting into cigars because I, like you, was curious. They may not be infused, but the blend sure is a curiously odd mixture of tastes that I didn't care for. And the sweetened cap was something that I never want to see on a cigar...ever :nono:. The same for the Tabak Especial. In my opinion they scored a home run on the Liga Privada line and I am sure glad they got away from that flavored crap. Like Craig said...stick to the Liga!

They are made exclusively with long filler pipe tobaccos, the exception being the dark angel, which has ligero in it as well as pipe tobacco. Not sure about the CI editions myself though

Yeah, they are not "flavored" in the traditional cigar sense, as most have said here. They use pipe tobacco which they don't chop up, keeping it long filler, and use that to roll the cigar. A little sweet without being crazy flavored like the Acid line.

Liga Privada is the only DE line that I smoke, most of the others ranged from meh to terrible. Obviously JMO.

Their Chateau Real is a pretty nice mild smoke, and is also 100% unaltered long filler.

Anyone got any of these that they'd be willing to trade for?

I'm intrigued, but I don't want to blind-buy a bundle of 20.

So I know I'll probably get lambasted for this, but I smoked a "Dirt" tonight, and it was actually quite nice!

To be honest, much of the "flavour-infused" aspect seemed to come from the wrapper, which was candy-sweet.

The core flavours, though, were actually kind of similar to the Liga Privada No. 9 (to me at least). Rich flavours of coffee bean, dark chocolate and a sweet earthiness.

I found it very pleasant, and with it being such a small smoke (4 x 43) it wasn't like I had to spend 2 hours with it.

Is it something I am going to buy a box of? No. But I could certainly see myself getting a "craving" for one of these once in a while, as it's a pleasantly sweet smoke.

My girlfriend smokes those. I ordered a box of them for her a while back. I stole one of them when we were at a casino longer than I had planned, and I ran out of smokes. It was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too sweet for me. I like that I can keep those in my humidor without worrying about it damaging my other smokes, though. Not something I'd ever buy for myself, but good to keep around for the women folk.
