Macanudo Cru Royale

Is it me, or is there a lot of hype about the Macanudo Cru Royale? I've gotten a lot of different shops' emails about their special Macanudo Cru Royale event.

Has anyone tried any and if so what's so good about them?

Never smoked a Macanudo cigar, myself, but yeah, I've noticed this too.

Both CI and Cigar.com are pimping them out pretty heavily.

I was impressed. If someone handed me that cigar unbanded, I would have never guessed it was a Crapanodo.

No its not the one with the medal band, thats the 98 maduro or something like that. I had a Cru Royale in the Gigante 6x60. The second half suprised me, it really came together and had some solid flavors. The first half was all typical Mac though, very weak flavors. Its not something Id buy again but its a step in the right direction for Macanudo.

I had the robusto. Not bad. Spicy and stronger than expected. Agreed: Good step for Mac.

A cigar with a lot of hype that I have yet to find. I have to give it to Macanudo, they are great cigars to start out with. It is about time for a revisit, so as soon as I see one of these pop up on the B&M shelf I will give it a go.

Picked one up a couple weeks ago when my B&M got them in and ran a 2 day 25%off deal... Haven't tried it yet...

And I just heard today they are having a release party for them on the 18th.

Not a huge Macanudo fan. Used to smoke them when I wasn't really into cigars, but don't really trust them much overall. Never been a good smoke to me.

A friend of mine loves Macanudos, but I have a hard time justifying the price they command in B&Ms.
