My wife was taking a bath tonight and she screams "Honey, get in here now!". Sweet . So I open the door and she's pointing at something on the floor. It's a Camel Cricket. You'd think it was a swamp creature or something .

It's rare to find an intact (well mostly so, he's missing a leg) one of these guys in our house as normally the cats like to hunt them.

Wow, that thing looks evil... living down here in Florida, I can say I don't think I've ever seen one of those. I'd probably freak out a little too.

That is a cool looking cricket. The perfect place for it Dan the bug man place. We have interesting bugs out here in the wild west. My granddaughters point them out to me. My neighbor just had a rattle snake in the garage. It is getting cold up here form them right now.

Ha, reminds me when Brooks was screaming like your wife at the site of a bee. He should be glad I was there the grab it from the air with my hand and knock it to the ground in my ninja like speed and stealth.

I absolutely HATE those f'ing things. Growing up in a wooded area where our house was built, we had those things in our house all of the time. They would get EVERYWHERE. The worst was when they got in bed and under the covers. IT didn't scare me as much as grossed me out. They would typically get smushed under the covers when you were sleeping and the guts would get all over.

YUCK!

Those are great. I have them in my pool house and my sun room. It seems they are sneaking into my garage now that it's turning colder.

Plentiful here in SC. I had one of my rental houses with an infestation of those suckers in the attic after a tenant left. Easy enough to get rid of with a professional service.

The craziest crawlies I have ever seen were in Thailand and the Philippines. From white planthopper nymphs that you think are just floating fuzzballs to sticky footed geckos that love to scamper up your pants or sleeves to the warmth of your torso...yikes
