Special Cigar from Johnathan Drew

I went to the Big Smoke in Vegas. On the day before the Big Smoke I went to Casa Fuente. When I walked in I saw JD standing there so I went to talk to him. He gave me a Dirty Rat and told me to lit it up and smoke it right there. So my first Cigar in vegas was a Dirty Rat in Casa Fuente! The surprise stick came later though. The next day at the Big Smoke JD was manning the CRA booth. I went over to talk to him and he pulled a very special stick out of his bag. It was none other then the cigar crated by Padron for the BOTL trip down there. I promised JD It would be the first cigar on my cruise to Mexico. When I got on the ship I lit it up and it was absolutely fantastic! Also JD mentioned that he could use a glass of water if I passed by again. I came by a little later with it and he gave me a Liga Privada coffee cup. JD has always been a great generous guy, thanks buddy!

That IS a great cigar... I smoked a couple on the trip......I'm still working my way through all the one off stuff I brought back....

JD is second to none IMO when it comes to helpin' curious BOTL, such as ourselves, out w/ smokes we otherwise couldn't have tried. Seen him do it here, and at Cbid. Unprecedented acts of kindness, and one that goes a long, long way w/ us consumers....


just one of the many reasons I enjoy burnin' those LP's, and will continue to do so for a long time to come.

I couldn't agree more. I'd never had tried an LP if I wasn't given a couple by JD (via TG) on cbid, only because they are more expensive than I buy except for special circumstances. Now I've purchased a few boxes worth :glassesgr

But even if I didn't already love the Liga Privadas, stories like this would make me try them. This kind of thing really goes a long way with me!

JD and Pete have always been "just a couple of cigar smoking guys" to me ever since I met both of them. A whole lot of people in the indusrty could take lessons from both of them in my opinion!
