OK Ron or everyone....I got the Heartfelt Beads in the Humidors as specified and even retested my Hydrometers. The problem so far after a day is the Hydrometers are reading 74% when the beads I baught are 65%. So do I need to give it more time or do I need a better Hydrometer and if so what is the best hydrometer to get. Am I doing something wrong here?:dunno:

I did the salt test.....after a day one read 74% the other 73% so I know there reading good that way just reading the same in the humi's after a day as well.

Salt is for fries dude. You can put your beads in the fridge to de-hydrate them.

Yeah, bro, get the boveda calibration kit. You can find it online for less than 5 bucks.

I also found that putting the beads in the oven at 200 degrees or using a hairdryer will dehydrate them.

I suggest a digital hygrometer...they are about 20 bucks a pop, maybe cheaper if you can catch a deal on cigarmonster. Much more reliable, and no calibration/salt test needed! Good luck with your issue my friend!

They may not need calibration (although some are adjustable) you will still want to use a Boveda pack (or something similar) to check the hygrometer to find out if it is right or not. My Diamond Crown digital is low by 2% which is fine as long as I know that. Just buy a 65% or 72% pack and put it in a tupperware container with the hygro for a day and see what it says then adjust your 'mind' for the correction if necessary.

That's smart...I'll try that when I get the chance. They are both reading pretty even with HF beads in my humi. If I see a Boveda pack in a shop I'll pick it up to text, but I'm not gonna go out of my way to order and have to pay shipping and all that jazz. Thanks for the tip and heads up though! Hope everything works out for all of ya!

Anytime I rehydrate I, I get RH spikes as well. My solution is put your beads in a ziplock bag until it stabilizes. Works every time.
