Can i use a good box?

So, I'm really new at this and this could be a dumb question, but today at my local shop i picked up a couple really nice cigar boxes. the one actually has a great cedar lining and seems to get a good seal with it when its closed. So my question is could I use this as a humidor to store some of my cigars as my collection grows? I would be using the boveda packs to keep it at the right humidity.

You'd be much better off getting some tupperware and making a tupperdor. It's a low cost humidor alternative.

Tupperdor or Coolidor work well and are cheap to set up.

Ok, i guess I'm better off just making an igloodor when my collection outgrows my current tupperdor. I'll just keep these boxes around cuz they look cool and use the cedar for my tupperdor/igloodor. Thanks!

Exactly!... Might as well buy a 150 quart cooler though, or you'll end up with 3 -5 smaller ones.

Yup, make a coolidor/igloodor and put the boxes inside that for better storage and RH control.

to answer your question IMHO: yes you can IF...

you go to walmart and buy a medium sized tupperware set w/ a lid...that is what i do. then i have cigar boxes inside that tupperdore that are full of cigars. that way im covered on all ends of the specturm. i think i paid 12 bucks for the tupperware i bought but its huge and takes up all the space under my bed lol
