Really?

Because I got a single The Face stick. And to be entirely honest, I may very well sell or trade it away.

To me, having one of something and knowing that I'll never be able to get it again is a huge tease, most especially if it's a really good cigar (which The Face apparently is).
Wait, are you commenting because you can't find them now, or because you might like them and won't be able to find them in the future?

Honestly, I don't understand the "I don't want to try a cigar, cause I might like it so much, and then I won't be able to get any more" attitude (not picking on you specifically)...
The whole point of this hobby is to A.Smoke cigars and B. Enjoy the Cigars you smoke...Just because you may not be able to get them anytime you walk down to your B&M is NOT a reason to not smoke even one of them, is it?

Cause if it is, there are a WHOLE buttload of GREAT cigars that those people will miss out on...

By the way Charlie...
Thanks, Charlie ... I actually saw that pic today ... i've been on the hunt to find a pic of the hotel lobby area and a suite or two.

The brands that sell a "lifestyle" are very interesting to me ... Rocky Patel (his forthcoming chain of Lounges), Jon Drew (cigarsafari), Pete Johnson (too much to list) ... not necessarily my favorite marketers but some of the most interesting.

Personally, I'm still searching for the person or brand that I really identify with stylistically. :)

I'm also very much an obsessive collector, though.

If I smoke The Face and end up loving it, knowing that I can't get it anymore will drive me insane.

It's quite a large stick, and it's starting to get very cold out. So it could very well be next spring/summer that I get to smoke it. By that time I don't imagine there'll be many (if any) stores I can call up and say "hey, got any more of those 10 ct. Face boxes left?"

But I'm also not going to drop $13/stick on a 10ct. box before I've even smoked one of them, since I'm on a very tight budget and dropping that much on a blind buy is out of the question for me.

Dude, if i get a chance to bang Megan Fox, I am not going to pass it up because I may only get to do it once. Complaining that you can't afford the cigar because it's an LE, does bring you full circle to the fiscal responsibility thread. If the cigar is too expensive to buy by the box (marrying Megan Fox), then smoke the single, so you can say you did (banging megan Fox). If you really like the cigar you can still get a 10 ct box. Cigars are an expensive hobby. I smoke an occasional OPUS and some guys smoke them after lunch on tuesday. Smoke with in your means.

To be honest I would totally buy a 10 ct. box for $130.

I guess I'm just jealous of the guys who got the beautiful full boxes :headroll:

Oh, and I really don't find Megan Fox attractive at all.

Rocky sure spends a lot on marketing but I think it really only reaches the noobs. Anyone that has been smoking for a length of time soon realizes that their are better cigars out there. Padron, Pepin, TAT, Davidoff.

if you replaced Megan Fox with Rachel Weisz.
The man has excellent taste!

Anyhoo, back to the marketing question...

Craig brought up a valid point -

None, just worry about their cigars and the marketing will take care of itself
This is what some of us joke about as the ""gurkha factor""....too much emphasis on the box INSTEAD of the cigar.

You can argue about the "eye appeal" of a boxes design...that only works ONCE. People don't smoke boxes.

A great cigar will sell in the plainest of boxes. Even without one.
