This couple bought a house that was used as a meth lab, now its nearly un-inhabitable. They need 25k to do a professional cleaning on the house, so they can actually live there. I donated what I could, and I know you guys are amazing, even 5 bucks can help.

At risk of sounding like an insensitive prick: if they had done any sort of research on the house before they bought this could have been avoided. The CNN article said the guy found out from a simple Google search, that takes a whole minute to do. Now they want us to pay for their stupidity?

That just sucks! Should be part of the home inspection process. If they have it as an optional class for them, it should be made standard. Hell...they will get to charge more and be able to ensure u know it was not a meth lab! I would want to know especially withall the forclosures!

Bingo. I've got no bleeding heart for stuff like that. Does it suck...yeah. Should you have done your research...yeah.

I'd imagine the walls would be yellow and the smell would be unbearable. Hard to believe this s a true story, but who knows.

I used to work in real estate and advised everyone to have an inspection, despite how adamant their protests were or how cheap the house was. It was even stipulated in my broker's contract that if they DON'T have one, it is against our advice.

In the end, an ounce of prevention is always worth a pound of cure, especially in real estate.

Finally, as in almost everything in life, if it sounds to good to be true........
