I'm looking to branch out and broaden my cigar experience by trying some Italian cigars. Can anyone make any recommendations?

How about some Di Nobilis too while you're trying to punish the poor guy...

Parodi's and Di Nobili are both made in Pennsylvania with US grown tobaccos. IIRC there is an Italian cigar with a very similar name to Parodi though.

I vaguely recall attempting to smoke a Toscano a number of years ago. I say attempting because I seem to recall it tasting like I what I would imagine trying to smoke a kingsford briquette dipped in latex paint would be like. I'm sure they probably have some decent cigars, but that particular Toscano blend wasn't one of them. I probably should have just smoked a Di Nobili instead - would probably have been a better cigar.

Keep in mind, this is a "dry cigar" storing it in a humidor will make it taste bad, no need for extra humidity.

Turns out there's a whole Internet retailer dedicated to these things:

http://www.italiansmokes.com/

Perhaps I will pick up a few samplers and give them a go. . .

Hurm. Looking at that site, maybe it was a Toscanello that I smoked and not a Toscano, I'm really not sure anymore, and I don't feel that one cigar is representative of the entire line or region. It just didn't interest me enough to seek out more of them to try.
