Has anyone smoked one recently? If so, how are they coming along? I have not smoked my only one, as there were mixed reviews on its release. But I recently purchased a couple more, and was wondering if it is safe to smoke now. Thanks.
I liked the 1 I had too. So recently got a 10x box.i still love them...sure they'll get better with time but the churchills are superb now...made my top 10 for the year.
With how little flavor there is to this cigar....if you want to actually taste it, probably water to be honest (maybe a light wheat beer). Also, what beverage will pair well with this flavor profile?
but the two i've smoke of the Verites......
kpp - do you mind me asking which size(s) you had. I read a lot of reviews that it was mostly the l'esprit (robusto) that had issues. Its the robusto's that need a lot of time i feel, they are smoking very rough right now for me.
I had one of each....and I certainly thought the La Verite was better of the 2, but not "$20 better".kpp - do you mind me asking which size(s) you had. I read a lot of reviews that it was mostly the l'esprit (robusto) that had issues.
i personally have only the churchills, so i hope they'll blossom the way everyone thinks they will.
I can relate to this, as I'm one who didn't love the Tenderloin as much as most did. I thought it was "good", but that is a stick where I see down time could define some of those flavors a little more as opposed to just being so "in your face" as I saw it, and become a truly amazing smoke.I love the La Verite, you guys just need mind blowing full body strength or it's not a good stick, it seems. I personally prefer flavor and complexity over strength, and the la Verite delivers.
The only reason I picked one up today is because I got it for half price ($10) because of a small cracked foot (about 1/4 of an inch). Hopefully it will be worth the $10.I can relate to this, as I'm one who didn't love the Tenderloin as much as most did. I love a good medium bodied smoke (which is mostly what I smoke I'd say), but for $16 & $20 respectively, the La Verite, and L'Espirit didn't deliver anything more that I could get from say a Viaje Platino, DPG My Father, or a EPC Short Run (all of which I liked better by the way)...just to use a few examples....and all those at a fraction of the price.
