I don't want to use the word "stolen" or "lost" so I am saying they just diappeared. I hate to think that someone in our postal system, which for me includes contractors who work for a company whos primary contracts have nothing to do with mail, has helped themselves to a FAT box of nice cigars.

A good friend of mine whom I have known for about the last 30 years has been asking me if I got the box he sent for about the past 6 weeks. He says he sent a box of Tats, Illusione and Fuentes. He is a pilot for some wealthy guy who owns his own jet and apparently the owner of said jet kicked in some nice smokes to send to me.

So I know my buddy wouldn't lie to me. Which means either it is just lost or sitting in a corner somewhere or, and I hate to think it, some bastard snatched my box of sweet smokes!

If you have sent me something and I didn't acknowledge your kindness, please know that I may not have ever gotten it. I really hope this is not the case.
I am optimistic that maybe one day the box will show up. :lookaroun

Couple questions pop immediately to mind - which might or might not even be applicable.

How did he send the box, priority or parcel post? I've never heard anything good about parcel post delivery times to Afghanistan.

Any possibility it's tied up in customs? Like if they listed the contents accurately and the dollar value kicked it into the "slow line".

Don't know what to tell ya. Had a package from PLUSH that never made it to me. Didn't even make it out of Texas. I barely got a half hearted apology from the postal service about it.

Sarge, I know my huge bomb to my bro in law was delayed like 5 weeks. I sent it w extra humidity just for that reason. Anyways he said sometimes customs in Afghanistan can be extra sow especially if it is labeled something a customs agent might enjoy. Thats why he got bombed from me with 8 boxes of "cookies". I hope they evntually make it to you and some dickhead customs guy isn't enjoying them himself.

I wonder if cookies might not be the right label. Someone might have a kid that would love some sugary sweets. Maybe label them books or something unappealing, wait I have it, VEGAMITE! No one touches that stuff...lol

Hey, they (the PO) sent me the top of the box with the label, nothing else, except a letter saying it was found. I'm like yeah, someone ripped the box apart and stole those primo smokes. I'll still get you something out.

That's so ridiculous it's kinda funny. Gee thanks for my box top now where is the rest of it. Lol. You don't gotta worry about sending anything out not your fault they didn't make it. Was just pointing out that it might not even be customs that's at fault. Sometimes USPS gets them too.
