Bit my tongue

I bit the #@$% out of my tongue yesterday. I could stick the tip of my pinky in the hole. I thought about going and getting stitches but being the tongue it closed up right away. Now today the main part has closed up but I have a flap that looks like it is going to stay that way, a flap. Anyway, I have not had a cigar in 2 days. When it heals I may have to go get it cut off.


Do you guys stop smoking when you get a mouth sore, you bite your cheek or tongue?

That sucks man. I bit a chunk off the side of mine once nothing feels quite like it. I guess it grew back. You might want to give it a couple days before you fill your mouth with smoke.

I bit my tongue bad about a month ago. I could have put a pencil eraser completely in the hole with no problem. When it happened it hurt and bled so much, I thought for sure I would need a stitch. After the wound healed, there was a large flap left, that I just chewed off after a while. I id not smoke while there was still a hole.

Sorry to hear that, I've bitten my cheek before and got a sore, but not my tongue. I've burnt my tongue before and it took awhile to heal.

If you need me to come over and smoke the cigars you had planned on smoking, let me know. I'm here to help a brother!

When my flap got good and numb, after about a week or maybe a little more, I snipped it off, very carefully, with a JD-sterilized nail clipper. Try that if you want, just make real sure it's dead first, and don't cut too close.

WoW, now that takes balls! :sadstare: To cut away at your tongue with a nail clipper *sheesh*, It's hard just picturing it.
I bit my tongue quite a few times never that extreme, but most of the time when your skin heals it rejects the dead tissue. Im not sure about the tongue because it stays wet. I just think it'll take a little longer. Hope all is well

It's so weird to see this thread because I, too, bit the shit out of my tongue last night.

I bit it waaaaaay at the back of my tongue. So far back, in fact, that the pain makes it almost feel like I have a sore throat.

I smoked a cigar tonight, and it didn't give me any grief at all.

Hope yours heals okay! That sounds nasty.
